Murali Sreeshankar: Courage Beyond the Sandpit

At the World Championships, Murali Sreeshankar needed either 8.15m or a place in the top 12 to qualify for the final. Despite managing jumps of 7.78m, 7.59m, and 7.70m, he finished 25th among 36 participants. Yet, what stands out is not the numbers -- it's the courage.

To come back after injury and still fight with determination shows that Sreeshankar remains a proud part of the global long jump mainstream.

Heartfelt congratulations to his coach and father, Mr. Murali, for his unwavering guidance, and special pride in his mother -- my MG University batchmate and International Athlete Bijimol. Sporting excellence truly runs deep in this family.

Sreeshankar's journey is not only about distances measured on the sand, but about resilience, faith, and the power to rise after setbacks.
